I would like buy Asrock 330HT with BD, but I'm sure yet. I'll faff about with the higher-tech stuff when the bascis are up and running! Anyway, I really want the sound through the TV so I can hear Windows bongs and Youtube vids etc without having to switch another device on. I haven't tried the SPDIF output into the Yamaha yet, as that means disconnecting the DVD player. I've configured all the audio driver settings and nothing seems amiss. If I plug the audio-out to a spare set of phono inputs on my Yamaha AV amp, I do get sound, but a much lower volume and slightly muffled sound than any of the other sources (this actually was the same with the Compaq, but I never could work out why and it didn't matter so much with sound through the TV). ![]() Perhaps foolishly, I expected everything to just work.! My previous "lounge" PC, a Compaq Evo, was hooked up in exactly the same way - effectively I'v just unplugged the cables from the Compaq and stuck them in the ASRock. Pics through both HDMI and VGA inputs, but no sound at all through the TV. ![]() ![]() I've connected the audio-out 3.5mm jackplug to the two phono inputs labelled "PC/HDMI Audio Input" on the TV. Also conected in "parallel" via VGA, as the POST / BIOS screen doesn't seem to show up through HDMI. Just bought an ASRock ION 330HT, and installed Win7.Ĭonnected to Toshiba 32WL56 TV via HDMI, straight into HDMI input on TV.
